Storyline and Gameplay
The story behind the game is that dimensional wormholes have opened up above New York City and the “Sinister Six” are attacking Spider-Man from a different dimension. SHIELD is gearing up to fight them off by bringing in Spider-Man.
In the game, you can switch to different versions of Spider-Man, such as Bombastic Bag-Man, Scarlet Spider, Spider-Armor, and more. Some missions can only be done with the correct Spider-Man but the gameplay is the same for all of them.
In this game, players will need to Spider-Man in various costumes. If players use the same costume more than once, they can combine those costumes to create a more powerful Spider-Man. Each Spider-Man has its own level that will increase individually as they play the game and defeat enemies.
As they level up, they will earn experience which will then allow them to access more difficult stages. When a player has reached the maximum level for a Spider-Man, they can then choose to promote that Spider-Man. This will in turn increase the level cap for that character as well as sometimes unlock new special abilities.
The game’s story mode is designed as a series of levels, each with its own objective. For example, one level might task you with defeating 10 henchmen, while another might require you to collect 10 med packs. Once you complete the objective for a given level, the stage ends and you can move on to the next level.
