Today is World Oceans Day and the motto under which the UN develops this day is:
Our oceans, our future
It coincides with the World Oceans Conference that is being held in New York from June 5 and that will last until tomorrow, the 9th. During this Conference, the aim is to reach agreements that allow reaching UNEP’s objective 14 of sustainable development.
Goal 14: Conserve and sustainably use the oceans, seas and marine resources for sustainable development.
To achieve this, the governments participating in the UN have to develop active policies for the conservation and dissemination of the marine environment, since, as is often the case, “you do not love what you do not know.”
