Examples of Movement

We explain that what are examples of Movement? Movement is called the change of position of a body, which starts from an initial point and moment . It can be said that there has been movement even returning to the initial position. In this case, what would be missing would be a displacement .

An offset is indicated when the end point is at a distance from the start point. For example, a swing that a child has played on will return to its main position, hanging a small distance from the ground. The swing has moved during the game, but has not moved. It’s still there for the next one who wants to use it.

Types of movement

There are definite ways in which a move can be performed:

Each describes a mechanism in which bodies reach new positions over time.

Rotatory motion

A rotation occurs when a body rotates on itself , guided by an axis, either material or governed by a physical law. This is the case of planets like Earth , which gives us day and night by rotating on its own axis. It is showing itself in its entirety, and with a certain inclination, which is why climates vary so much between regions.

Another case of rotation is presented by ballet dancers during their choreographies, in which they raise their arms and support the weight of the body on the tips of their feet.

Uniform line movement

This type of movement consists of the body constantly changing position, describing a straight line and with a persistent speed. This is the case of a car traveling on the road, at the speed limit of 100 kilometers per hour.

In uniform rectilinear motion, you have to turn around to travel the path again, in a straight line, and thus return to the starting point.

Uniformly accelerated motion

The speed increase or decrease is progressive and in equal amounts (that is why it is called “uniform”). You can describe different “shapes” such as a straight line and a circle.

This is the case of a stone that has been thrown into the sky, and begins a constant downward acceleration, by action of gravitation. It also happens with cars, in which the accelerator is pressed and a speed is reached after accelerating for a certain time.

Elliptical motion

It is the movement of a body that in its trajectory describes the figure of an ellipse . It is, for example, what occurs in the translation of the planets in the solar system. Each one has its own ellipse traced around the sun, some wider than others.

The sun, with its gravitational field, holds the planets at a distance from it, so that their paths reach that shape.

Circular movement

The body defines a circumference as it moves. It can be a pencil that draws a circle on a sheet of paper, for example. Geometrically, the body will always be at the same distance from a center. This distance is the radius of the circumference.

It is possible to express the speed of this movement in different systems: in the sexagesimal as degrees per unit of time (° / t) , in the radian, as radians per unit of time (rad / t) , and in a more comfortable system , which indicates it as revolutions per unit of time (rev / t) .

Vibratory movement

In this type of movement, the body shakes or shakes at a rhythm , communicating its movement to the environment, if it is close to a liquid or a solid.

The vibratory movement can be applied to the settlement or compaction of sand or lime particles, so that they occupy the smallest possible volume and thus the density of them can be measured.

Oscillatory movement

The oscillatory movement is the one that forms a pendulum that has been withdrawn from its state of rest. It is a swing that seeks to give the pendulum a fixed position, and in which the energy is released little by little, making the pendulum go less far in each swing.

This principle is used for recreational purposes. The back and forth of a swing is an example of oscillatory motion.

Examples of Movement

If a person takes a small step, the articulation of the legs has already been involved, and the effort to get to the next point. These factors were brought together for the movement, and the step was traveled. If another step is taken later towards the starting point, there will be a movement again.
